Fridgify ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services (collectively, the "Service").

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Fridgify is not designed for collecting personally identifiable information (PII) or securing sensitive personal data. Please do not share sensitive personal information through our Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Account Information: Email address, username, password (encrypted)
Profile Information: Optional profile photo, display name, preferences
User Content: Photos of ingredients, manually entered ingredient lists, saved recipes

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
Usage Data: App features used, recipes generated, search queries
Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, error logs
Session Recording Data: Screen interactions, taps, scrolls, and navigation patterns (with sensitive content automatically masked)
Anonymized Analytics: Hashed user identifiers for aggregated usage statistics

1.3 Information from Third Parties

Authentication Providers: If you sign in with Google/Apple, we receive basic profile info
Payment Processors: Payment confirmation and subscription status (not payment details)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide the Service: Generate recipes, recognize ingredients, save your data
Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, develop new features
Communicate: Send service updates, respond to support requests
Security: Detect fraud, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service
Legal Compliance: Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

3. AI and Machine Learning

3.1 Ingredient Recognition

Photos you upload are processed by AI to identify ingredients
Photos are temporarily stored during processing and deleted afterward
Processed data (ingredient names) is saved to your account

3.2 Recipe Generation

Your ingredient lists are sent to AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) to generate recipes
AI providers process your data according to their privacy policies
Generated recipes are saved to your account

3.3 AI Training

We do not use your personal photos or data to train our AI models
Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be used to improve AI performance

3.4 Analytics and Session Recording

To improve our Service, we collect anonymized usage data:

Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with our app
Your user ID is anonymized using SHA-256 hashing before being sent to analytics
No personally identifiable information is associated with analytics data

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity for session recording and heatmap analysis
Session recordings help us identify usability issues and improve the user experience
Sensitive content (text inputs, personal information) is automatically masked
Recordings do not capture passwords, payment information, or other sensitive data

Eodin Analytics

We use Eodin Analytics SDK (developed in-house) for attribution and LTV/CAC tracking
Tracks key events: app installs, app opens, recipe generation, subscription activity
Used to measure marketing campaign effectiveness and user lifetime value
No personally identifiable information is collected
Data is processed on our own servers for business analytics only

Your Control

You can opt out of usage analysis at any time via Menu > Usage Analysis
On iOS, you can manage tracking permissions via Settings > Privacy > Tracking
Opting out will disable both analytics and session recording

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

4.1 Service Providers

AI Providers: OpenAI, Anthropic (for recipe generation)
Cloud Infrastructure: AWS, Google Cloud (for hosting and storage)
Payment Processors: Stripe, Apple/Google (for subscription billing)
Subscription Management: RevenueCat (for in-app subscription handling and purchase verification)
Analytics: Firebase Analytics (for usage analytics with anonymized user IDs)
Session Recording: Microsoft Clarity (for UX analysis with automatic content masking)
Attribution Analytics: Eodin Analytics (in-house SDK for marketing attribution and LTV/CAC analysis)

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or to:

Comply with legal process (subpoena, court order)
Protect our rights, property, or safety
Prevent fraud or security threats
Investigate violations of our Terms

4.3 Business Transfers

If we are acquired or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner.

5. Data Retention

Account Data: Retained while your account is active
Photos: Deleted immediately after ingredient recognition
Recipes: Retained until you delete them
Logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging
Deleted Accounts: Data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Portability

View your data in the app settings
Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@fridgify.app

6.2 Correction and Deletion

Edit your profile and data in the app
Delete your account anytime through Settings > Delete Account

6.3 Opt-Out

Marketing Emails: Unsubscribe via the link in emails
Usage Analysis: Disable analytics and session recording in Menu > Usage Analysis
Push Notifications: Disable in device settings
iOS App Tracking: Manage via iOS Settings > Privacy > Tracking

6.4 Do Not Track

Our Service does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals.

7. Data Security

We implement security measures including:

Encryption: Data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
Authentication: Secure password hashing (bcrypt)
Access Controls: Limited employee access to data
Monitoring: Regular security audits and vulnerability scans

However, no system is 100% secure. Use the Service at your own risk.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
